- Mother-in-law’s tongue bread ππ
Ingredients:
Pasta:
1 kg of wheat
10 g of flour reinforcer
200 g of sugar
20 g of salt
12g dry yeast
1 egg
100 ml of milk
40 g of margarine
400 ml of water
Roof:
1 kg dry shredded coconut
6 eggs
Yellow food coloring (optional)
Syrup:
1.5 liters of water
900 g of sugar
Method of preparation:
Mix the dry ingredients and add the egg, milk, margarine and, little by little, the water, kneading until it comes off the hands. Knead well, cover and let rise for 20 minutes. Divide into balls, open with a rolling pin and roll up (the tongues). Arrange on baking sheets and let rise for about 1 hour. Distribute the topping and bake in a preheated medium oven (180ΒΊC) for about 30 minutes or until golden. Brush the still hot buns with the syrup and let it cool.
Coverage: Mix the ingredients and use.
Syrup: Boil the ingredients until you get a yarn-like syrup.
